  • The NFL is the National Football League.
  • American football was adapted from the English game of rugby.
  • The season starts in August and reaches its peak on « Superbowl Sunday ». So the Superbowl is a championship final between the best two teams . In 2012, the final will be between The New York Giants and the New England Patriots. 
  • The American football teams are divided into two conferences : the AFC (the American Football Conference ) and the NFC (the National Football Conference). 
  • Each conference is divided into 4 divisions : North – South- East-West.
