Story :

            Allen Walker is a young man who has just finished his exorcist learning with Cross Marian. He has to fight Akuma (demons) with the other exorcists of the base (the pretty Lenalee, the cold and indifferent Yû Kanda, Arystar Krory the vampire, …) and accompanied by Timcampy the loyal « pet » and messenger lent by his master. But a more terrible threat is announced : the Millennium prince and the 13 Noah’s descendants are back…

    Drawbacks:

    – a complicated and a little far-fetched story

 Our opinion:

 Violette : A story with many turn-of-events but it always keep his humor in spite of difficult situations . Maybe the story becomes complicated and far-fetched but that doesn’t change the appealing side of this manga !!

Mathilde : I think it’s a really original and funny manga, we can laugh, we can be  touched… But Violette has said it all, so I can’t add anything else but : READ THIS MANGA !! (and make your own opinion).

It’s a red and beautiful car. The brand of this car is Porsche.  It has black rims and the aerofoil is black and red. It’s  maximal speed is 306 KM/hour and it’s more expensive than Audi or Mercedes cars . It’s a 380  horsepower car!

We think it’s the best car of the world but we have never seen it in movies or in adverts. And it’s very rare but even the stars have it .

Michelle: Tony’s girlfriend, attractive, gullible, a girl of character.

Sid: Tony’s best friend, the « loser » of the group, secretly in love with Michelle and unaware of Cassie’s love.

Cassie: daydreamer, anorexic, always says « Wow ».

Maxxie: Gay and proud to be, a break-dance and tap-dance amateur, dreams to leave school to compete in dance shows, Anwar’s best friend. Sensible, sweet and lovable.

Anwar: Moslem and obliged to obey his religion, Maxxie’s best friend, obssessed with  girls, takes part in everyparty of the group.

Chris: the Junky of the group. Abandoned by his mother and rejected by his father. Has to live by himself. Secretly in love with his psycho teacher.

Jal: The serious one, spends more time looking after the others than herself, talented clarinettist, unconsciously in love with Chris.

Effy: Tony’s young sister, « trash », pyromaniac, withdrawn in a total silence, leader of the second generation.

The success was immediate as the pilot was watched by 1.4 million viewers on E4 namely the highest audience on British channel ever. Channel 4 confirmed a film and a book adaptation.

Our opinion:

The series is representative of real life, because it’s based on real and solid facts. Anyone can identify himself or herself to each character and thus follow the story with more attention. Because of the fact that it deals with usually forbidden subjects, this series shocks and strikes by its genuineness and looks like it’s going to be a phenomenon. A breath of fresh air in the televisual field!

• Los Angeles is the 2^nd biggest city of USA: in 2007, there were 3 834 340 in habitants compared to the year 1887, when there were just 11 500 inhabitants. In the city and its region there are 18, 5 millions inhabitants.

• In the beginning of the twentieth century, the discovery of petroleum caused the expansion of the city.

  

• The city’s climate attracts populations. It is sunny 320 days a year. The summer is hot and dry. The winter is soft and humid. The highest temperature was 46.7°C, at Canoga Park in 1985 and the record of cold was -7.8°C, in 1989 at the same place.
• 

• Los Angeles is the world capital of movies. The Hollywood stars have their names on the Walk of Fame. There, you can “walk on stars”. The Grauman’s Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard is one of the most famous cinemas in the world; there are stars’ impressions of their hands or feet.

• Hollywood was a real estate advertisement and its original name was Hollywood land.

• The habitants of Los Angeles prefer to have their own cars instead of taking public transportation. Contrary to San Francisco or New York, transportation is less developed in Los Angeles. There is a network of cycle paths as well as buses as a way to suggest an alternative to the automobile.

• Tourism isn’t developed in Los Angeles. Tourists prefer visiting Disneyland or the Hollywood Universal Studios. The classic tour of Los Angeles also includes Sunset Boulevard, Santa Monica Boulevard, Melrose Avenue, Pacific Coast Highway, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The most famous beaches of Los Angeles are Malibu and Venice Beach.

• In the past, the Olympic Games took place in Los Angeles twice (in 1932 and in 1984).

• The risk of earthquake is very high in the region. The most recent tremor happened in Northridge in 1994. The damages amount to more than $25 billion.

• Los Angeles has a higher crime rate than New York City but a lower crime rate than Chicago!

MARILYN MONROE

Marilyn Monroe , a beautiful blonde woman , with sparkling eyes and an irresistible smile , who was born in 1926 in Los Angeles , was a real heart-breaker ! She became an unquestionable celebrity of 20th century but it wasn’t all roses!

Marilyn had a very hard childhood : her mother had a recurrent nervous breakdown, so she lived for a long time in host families and in orphanages .

When she was 16 , Marilyn got married with James Dougherty and got a divorce . She also got married with Joe DiMaggio , got a divorce too , then with Arthur Miller . All around the world , people know everything about her secret relationships with John Fitzgerald Kennedy , the American president , and with his brother , Robert Kennedy.

In 1944, she participated in a campaign for the army. In 1946, she signed her first contract with Fox. She was immediatelypopular !! So , she acted in a lot of movies.
