 Our opinion:

This series is really interesting because of the fact that the viewers can see a world that the other series don’t look at. In spite of the fact that the characters are rich, people can identify themselves to the characters. For the readers of the book series,  we think the TV adaptation is a new way to see the young New-Yorkers. Gossip Girl initially received mixed reviews, but for the New York Magazine, Gossip Girl is the  »Best. Show. Ever. ».

Martin Luther King Jr. is one the most famous politicians in the U.S.A. He fought for peace between blacks and whites during the 50′s and 60′s. He was killed by a white man.

2.Inauguration day’s

We celebrate it on January, 20th,  following a Presidential election. This day is celebrated every four years by the government, in Washington D.C.–the capital of U.S.A. If the holiday is on a Sunday the celebration takes place on the 21th  of January.

3. Valentine’s day

It is celebrated on  the 14th of Febuary each year. It is about love, love stories, etc… but about friendship too. Everyone gives a pink flower to his or herlover. In the Antiquity calendar, the 14th of February  is associated with fertility. The name « Valentine » comes from the name of three saints who are all called Valentine. The date is fixed on the14th of February and that’s why Valentine’s day is called like this.
