Rabbits live for about 10 years. They are rodent animals. They can eat hay, granules, vegetables, fruit and herbs. They drink water. They breed between three and twelve baby rabbits.

There are different sorts of rabbits : Common rabbits, Angora rabbits, Rich rabbits, Dwarf rabbits and a lot other species.

Rabbits can be of different colours : white, brown, black, beige, grey but they can also be multicoloured : white and beige, black and white, brown and beige … Rabbits are between 15 cm and 30 cm tall. They weigh between 0,5 and 8 kg.

Rabbits are very cute aren’t they ?!

I) Elizabeth’s girlhood

Elizabeth Ist  was born on the 7th of September, 1533, in Greenwich. She was the daughter of the king Henry VIII and of his second wife Anne Boleyn .When her mother died, Lady Margaret Bryan took care of Elizabeth. Elizabeth was raised with her half-sister, Mary Tudor, who was 17 years older than Elizabeth. Elizabeth had a half-brother too, Edward VI, who was the son of Henry VIII and of Jane Seymour.

II) Elizabeth’s Reign

Before the reign of Elizabeth, it was her half-sister, Mary I ,who reigned. She was a Catholic queen and she killed several hundreds of Protestants because she wanted everybody to be Catholic in Britain.

Elizabeth reigned during 44 years from 1558 to 1603. She spoke various languages : English, French, Italian, Greek and Latin.

She was nicknamed « The Virgin Queen » because she never married even if she had several lovers.

Elizabeth was very different from Mary Ist. She gave the Protestants the right to practise their religion.

The era of the reign of Elizabeth is nicknamed the Elizabethan era and during her reign, she had many castles built.

Elizabeth reigned during 44 years from 1558 to 1603.

When Elizabeth died, it’s her cousin, James VI who reigned because she had no children.
