A man has been questioned by police at LaGuardia airport in New York after smuggling a monkey onto a flight from Florida by hiding it under his hat.

Passengers spotted the animal when it climbed out and perchedon the man’s ponytail.

The shooting of an extremely rare white stag has been described by South West farmers as « disgusting ».

The animal’s carcass was found headless after being shot by a poacher in Devon .

The farmers in Devon have long feared that stags’ head and antlers (=les bois du cerf)might be sold (=revendus) by poachers.

The fires have left 3 dead, burned down 1,300 homes

Last week, more than 500, 000 Californian residents left their homes because of wildfires.

In San Diego county at least 1,800 homes and other buildings have been destroyed.
Many blazes have now been contained.
