John Rich (incredible name isn’t it ?) sing a country song for McCain

In fact this video dates back to the time when Barack Obama was fighting to become his party’s candidate. His team decided that people needed to know more about him. So, they made this video which summarizes his career and is personal life.

I had already posted “This is the Life” by Amy McDonald on this blog and here is “Mr Rock & Roll” from her debut album.

Amy McDonald is a Scottish singer and songwriter. You will her her strong but loverly Scottish accent in the second video of this article.

She started playing on-stage acoustic gigs at the age of 15 ! Her main influences include Travis (find them on YouTube, they’re Scottish too and they are great !) and The Libertines. In fact, she is a self taught musician (which means she learnt to play music all by herself !) and started to play her father’s guitar after being inspired by Travis at the T in the Park Festival in 2000, where she heard Travis’ song “Turn” (great song by the way !) and wanted to play it herself.

You may know that John McCain is the oldest candidate to run for the presidency. He’s 72 ! He is also a Vietnam War Veteran.  In October 1967, while on a bombing mission over Hanoi, he was shot down, badly injured, and captured by North Vietnamese soldiers. He was a POW (Prisoner of War) until 1973 (so for SIX years !)  , experiencing episodes of torture. His war wounds left him with lifelong physical limitations : that’s why you may have noticed that he has a slight limp (= il boite).

In this recent advert, Barack Obama accuses John McCain and Sarah Palin of being ignorant on foreign policy.
