Her name is Agnès Gonxha Bojaxhiu. She was born on
August 1910 in the Ottoman Empire and she died in September 1997. She is famous
because she founded the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta. She was Indian and
she ministered to the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying. Mother Teresa’s
Missionaries of Charity looked after 610 missions in 123 countries. She received
the Nobel Peace Prize in 1919.
