Maisonvide : more than worth a visit

In fact, we may as well call it Maisonpleine for lots of things are hapenning over there!

Located in the heart of a small village, Crugny,  15 minutes away from Rheims, Maisonvide is a  place where artists can express themselves freely and exhibit their works.

Anne -Sophie Velly and Maud Gironnay initiated the project and won the « Envie d’agir « prize in 2009.

After long hours of work and energy spent on the renovation of the House, the experience is  on its way.

Most recently, an intriguing exhibit called « Rhizome« took place.

A  huge piece called « Foyer« , by Harold Guérin sprang out of the house and attracted people inside. Made of wood and polycarbonates,  the piece invades the whole house and produces sounds.

Inside the house, other great pieces were displayed and the vernissage ended up with a concert.

Harold Guérin is part of a project of an artist in residence in the Lycée Val de Murigny, The Collège Pierre de Brossolette , the Collège Trois Fontaines, the Lycée Colbert and the Collége Colbert in Rheims. (See his site in our blogolist)

The place is charming and attractive, gently shaking up the landscape like a UFO or  like  a bulldog in a china shop, all this for the best.
