Do you know Simon Baker-Denny, an iconic Australian?

Simon Baker-Denny was born in Australia in 1969. He is known for his lead role in the American series The Mentalist as Patrick Jane.

He has one sister, and three younger half brothers. His mother was an English teacher, his father was a mechanic, but they divorced when Simon was young. His mother then married Tom Denny.


He loves sports, and specialises in sports, he did lot of national competitions in surf or water-polo when he was young. But he also loved drama and changed his path to study at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney.


He played many roles in video clips, not well-known films or series. One day he played in a famous Australian series: Heartbreak height, which led him to move to the United States. There, he succeed in the casting of L.A Confidential, a short but very important role for his career, which opened the doors of Hollywood to him. Afterwards, he had success upon success in various roles.

But in the end, it’s on TV the he will be known, with his famous role in the series The Mentalist, playing Patrick Jane, a consultant to the California Bureau of Investigation. In 2009, he was nominated for an Emmy Award, later for a second Golden Globe, and finally for a Screen Actors Guild Award.


Today he is married to an Australian woman, and they have three children. Moreover, in 2009, he declared becoming an American citizen.
