UNESCO: Present and Future, in the Service of Sustainable Development

was the name of the lecture- symposium held at Sciences Po University, on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 (17:00-19:00) in the Jeannie de Clarens Amphitheatre, Sciences Po main building: 27 rue Saint-Guillaume in Paris. Sciences Po UNESCO Club members organized the event.

His Excellency Mr. Laurent Stéfanini: Ambassador of France to UNESCO, French career diplomat and national Ambassador for the Environment (and an alumnus of Sciences Po), shared some precious views on multilateral diplomacy, sustainability and UNESCO.

Mr. Nicolas Kassianides, Head of the Cabinet of the Director-General of UNESCO, and Assistant Director-General for External Relations of UNESCO, (also Sciences Po alumnus) focused on current and future UNESCO highlights, and shared some valuable insights about sustainable practices.

Aleksandar Protic, Tesla project Director, Program Advisor at Ecole Polytechnique and the Vice President of the European Federation for UNESCO Centers, Clubs and Associations, (previously Sciences Po’s International Admissions Manager), addressed a number of points important for education, civil society and the SDG’s.

Following their lectures – presentations, expert speakers engaged in a dynamic exchange with the audience (mostly composed of Sciences Po students, professors and staff) and provided many useful information and advices.
