My visit to the snail farm!

Hello dear readers, today I’m going to talk to you about snail farming. I know that for most of you it is really strange to eat or even to breed snails. But this is not Michael Collins’ s opinion, the snail breeder. He is British, he comes from the south of England, from Tidworth more precisly. He’s 36. He’s married to a French woman and has two children, therefore he lives in France now. Every day he has the opportunity to be a cook, a farmer, a seller, a dad and a husband. Every year, Christmas is the busiest period, because 1/3 of his stock is sold. He has about 10 different recipes, such as snails with feta and tomatoes, « croquilles », snail kebabs or snails with « foie gras »… He decided to become a snail breeder because when he changed his job he needed a new challenge. Snails eat a kind of powder that contains calcium and vitamins. The snails’ reproduction takes place between March and May. Michael Collins grows his snails in 5 months.
