Marie Antoinette was born in Austria. She married Louis XVI in 1770. At first, France welcomed her because she was young and pretty. But she was frivolous and did not hesitate to spend fortunes on jewels and dresses.
As a result, people accused her of being selfish and heartless. They did not like her at all.
The Royal couple tried to escape from Paris in 1791 but the revolutionaries arrested them and imprisoned them in Le Temple.
They executed Marie Antoinette two years later.
