In 1863, President Lincoln made a law called « The Emancipation Proclamation » which gave more freedom to the slaves.
The other law written by Abraham Lincoln (the 16th president of the USA) is called « The 13th amendment ». It talked about the abolition of slavery and was voted on February the 1st, 1865. The goal of this event was to abolish slavery and put an end to the Civil War. The people involved were the slaves, in particular the dark-skinned people.
Thanks to this law, in today’s America there aren’t slaves. Furthermore, it improved the living-conditions of black people.
