The 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution : Women’s Right To Vote

Posted by on 10 mai 2016

Few years ago, American women wanted the right to vote. The event started in 1800 when women organised a lot of things like petitions and marches to get the right to vote. It was very difficult to agree about the amendment but it was only in 1878 that the amendment was introduced in Congress. 9 western states signed the amendment in 1912. On may the 21st 1919, 7 years later, the House of Representatives accepted this amendment with the Senate. It was only when the state of Tennessee accepted this amendment that the right was written in the U.S. Constitution on August the 26th, 1920. Today, all American women can vote legally like all American men.
