Grand Canyon is situated in the North-East of Arizona. It is a gorge of the Colorado River.

Grand Canyon Skywalk is a tourist attration situated in Grand Canyon West, on the edge of the Grand Canyon. It is a horseshoe-shaped glass walkway 1,200 meters (4,000 feet) above the floor of the canyon.

The Skywalk is not directly above the main, Granite Gorge canyon containing the Colorado River, but instead extends over a side canyon and affords a view into the main canyon.

It is owned by the Hualapai Indian tribe and it opened to the public in March 2007.

Visitors are given bootees (= des chaussons) to prevent their shoes from scratching the glass walkway.
