John Constable was born on June 11th in 1776 in East Bergholt in Suffolk in England. He was English.

He was the son of a wealthy mill owner.

His father wanted him to be a priest but John Constable prefered drawing.

He studied at the Royal Academy in London.

He was a British painter. He painted « The Haywain » in 1820 and « Salisbury Cathedral » in 1823 etc…

He wasn’t very famous in England but the French painters (Delacroix ect…) loved his pictures.

He died on March 31st in 1837, in London, in London, in England, aged 61.
