 HALLOWEEN

1. After you oral comprehension, we started a new subject but you didn’t know its theme. You’ve discovered it while listening to two short documents.

2.Then, you told me all that you could hear and all that it reminded you of. So I wrote all this brainstorming on the whiteboard and you wrote it into your part vocabulary. At the end of it, you had to guess the theme. You referred to fear, horror films and then, someone proposed HALLOWEEN:the dead, the living, death, church, a witch, zombies, monsters, a laughter, a spook, a ghost, a spirit, horror, a thriller, fear, fright, shrieks, stressful, stressed, spooky, frightening, frightened, terrifying, terrified, I’m afraid (of + N), petrified, to laugh, to remind s.o of sth: it reminds me of death

Homework(Thursday, October 13th): Learn all the vocabulary

Thursday, October 13th

1. Our assistant Elizabeth, welcomed you and started to speak about what she did when it was Halloween in her little town. I asked for some precisions or ask questions on other aspects of Halloween. She answered all the questions and explained you many things repeating or rephrasing her sentences whenever you needed it.She told you about the craziest costumes she’s ever seen, kids’, teenagers’ and students’costumes. She also explained what children, teenagers, students & adults tend to do on that day. I asked her what costume she was most proud of and then, what precautions should be taken on Halloween’s night when children go trick-or-treating. I also completed what was said with the story of Jack. I didn’t explain everything but i told you most of the legend.

2. I wrote some tools to know and add to your brainstorming on Halloween but we didn’t have much time so we’ll recapitulate and write them in the files next time.

3. You formed groups then and each group was given a specific image with a worksheet to fill in. Elizabeth helped you. We’ll go on on Monday!

Petite note avant l’oral du baccalauréat

Sunday, 19 June 04:45 pm

Click on the icon below to be able to listen to Andrea Levy speaking about her novel Small Island on the BBC in a programme called « the World Book Club ».

Si certains d’entre vous (je fais référence aux LV1 bien sûr) deviez passer l’anglais au 2ème tour, vous trouverez un dossier avec les photocopies des textes au lycée. Demandez à l’administration si je ne me trouve pas dans les locaux.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you! May the force be with you!

You can also select the news categories that you’ll at the bottom of the screen : world/national/business/technology/sports/entertainment/health.
