A day in the life of Her Majesty
7.30am : The Queen always has a cup of Earl Grey tea (milk, no sugar) and a few biscuits before her breakfast.
She listens to BBC Radio and takes a bath.
8.30am : Breakfast with the Duke of Edinburgh is served in the dining room. Her Majesty loves having toast with marmelade, which she sometimes shares with her dogs. She also likes cornflakes with a spoonful or two apricots, prunes, strawberries or nuts.
She often reads the morning papers. Time for work
She receives up to 300 letters from the public each day, some of which she reads herself.
Then, she takes her beloved dogs for their morning walk.
She usually has lunch alone at Buckingham Palace.
But, the Queen sometimes enjoys lunch with her big family, all the children and grandchildren together.
5pm : Tea is served in the Queen’s Palace suite, with sandwiches, scones and her favourite Dundee cake.
After tea, Her Majesty spends another hour at her desk, working.
7.30pm : The Queen and Prince Philip have a relaxed meal of lamb, roast beef or salmon. She never has potatoes because she hates it and she rarely drinks wine with dinner.
8.30pm : The Queen is a huge fan of Coronation Street and also does jigsaw puzzles and crosswords or plays Scrabble to relax.
11pm : It’s time for the Queen to go to bed, but not before writing a page of her diary.
Now, listen to your teacher and do the exercise on your paper
