The terminal is an American film directed by Steven Spielberg in 2004. The genre of the film is: Comedy and tragedy.

The main actor is Tom Hanks who is also a great actor.

This is the story of an Iranian tourist, Viktor Navorski, which at the time of registration at a US airport is blocked by the fact that his country, Krakozie just seen its government overthrown, he is considered undesirable for the authorities.
Throughout history, Viktor knows some surprising evolution, it begins to « work » at the premises of the airport to feed, learns to speak American, to make friends or even fall in love with a stewardess air.

A surprising and touching evolution. One can only feel compassion for the character of Viktor, although it must be admitted that to the beginning of the film, doesn’t has a very good grip,I highly recommend it.

GANDHI – Movie (1983)

Gandhi is a film directed by Richard Attenborough in 1982.

The film traces the important moments in the life of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and the struggle for Indian independence.

Some scenes evoke the Salt Walking, the death of his wife during his captivity, the independence and partition of India and finally to his assassination January 30, 1948.

The person playing Gandhi is Ben Kingsley.

This film won multiple awards like the Oscar, British Academy Film Award and Golden Globe Awards.

We also learn that Ben Kingsley, whose real name is Krishna Bhanji, originated by his father to the Indian state of Gujarat in which was also born Mahatma Gandhi and the scene of the assassination of Gandhi was shot in Birla House in New Delhi, the place where Gandhi was actually assassinated.

I’ve particularly liked the film because it had was very well done, the game of the characters is played beautifully , I recommend watching it if you’re interested in  history and at this period.

Journey to the Center of the Earth

Journey to the Center of the Earth  was written by Jules Verne in 1864.
The book is a mixture of science and adventure.

The main characters are Professor Otto Lidenbrock, axel the nephew of Otto and Hans Bjelke. It’s a first-person narrite and the narrator is Axel, he recounts his adventures he lives with his uncle.

It has been adapted in many many forms, video games, comics, books or even by films.

Personally I looked the both movies and read thé book, I think the movie really reflects the book.

And you, have you ever seen the movies and read the book ?

the major player is Tom Hanks, he plays Captain Phillips.

Synopsis: Captain Phillips tells the true story of the hostage-taking of American merchant marine ship, Maersk Alabama, conducted in 2009 by Somali pirates.

This is a great movie full of suspense, you always wonder what will happen, the plot is very well built. Moreover, Tom Hanks plays his character very well, every minute of the film, we empathize with personnages compared to what is happening.

I suggest you see this movie, or if you’ve already seen this film, tell me what you think.

Stephen King

I would like to introduce my prefered author who is of course Stephen King. It is an American writer and  he was born September 21, 1947 in Portland. It is the undisputed master of suspense and terror.

He wrote and published over fifty novels, including seven under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, and about two hundred short stories. He has been much criticized for his familiar style and the gore vocabulary he used. Many of his books have been adapted for the cinema, whether in book or movie, this is always a great success.

Stand by me – Ben E. King

Here is one of my favorite song. It is performed by Ben E. King, composed and written in 1961 by Ben E. King with Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller.

Lyrics and music are inspired by one gospel written by the pastor Charles Tindley.

This song made ??a lot of recovery by singers or group well-known such as John Lennon, Elvis Presley, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Hallyday and others.

I hope you enjoy this music as much as me.

House Rules by Jodi Picoult

I worked on this book for the Tpe, and I managed to read this huge book in English. Jodi Picoult is an American writer born in 1966. His book tells the story of an autistic child with asperger syndrome, reached seriously, he does not understand everything  that we told him and is enclosed in his bubble. Passionate of crime scene because, yes he has outsized intelligence, it will be accused to the murder of her guardian. It must be read, because we better understand the suffering of parents, relatives and autism itself, this book opens our eyes to the disease.

After this book, my judgment on autism has changed because yes it may not be normal but they are still human beings after all. All my respect to the author who has a good approach to the topic.

A cry in the night written by Mary Higgins Clark

A cry in the night is a novel written by Mary Higgins Clark which was published in 1982. The writer is american, she was born on december, the 24th 1929 in New-York. This novel relates the story of woman called Jenny McPartland who has two children and she’s single but one day she meets the painter Erich Krueger. Unfortunately, their love story turns very badly. There is many suspense and gives chills down your spine. I love this book and I would like to see a film adaptation of the book.

The Chronicles of Narnia

The Chronicles of Narnia is a film that I particularly like, it link to Alice in Wonderland because here also we are in the wonderful. Again we can talk with animals and also fight with them.
The characters are endearing especially little Lucy, she’s the first person who comes in this strange world.
Moreover, it was written by an Irish writer CS Lewis, a close friend of JRR Tolkien the writer of The Hobbit.

Three meters above the sky

I’d like to introduce a film that I love, called « Three meters above the sky » given it is a Spanish film here his title in Spanish « Tres metros sobre el cielo » its French title is « Twilight Love ». The film was directed by Fernando Gonzalez Molina in 2010 with major players Mario Casas and Maria Valverde.
This is the story of an impossible love between Babi, a girl of 17 years, from the high society and Hugo (nicknamed « H »), a rebellious young man, carefree, ill at ease, Which used to date only girls who not respect themselves and participate in illegal races … So are complete opposites, they fall in love. And follows a story like no other.
I found the movie very sad and at the same time so exciting.

Romeo and Juliet by William.S

Having start a course on Shakespeare, the urge came to me to read the play Romeo and Juliet in English and it turns out that it is quite difficult to read Shakespeare. I’ve also watched Romeo + Juliet Baz Luhrmann film released in 1996, even if it is a modern even very modern, it traces well the play by William Shakespeare. Whether in the book or the film, I still have the same expectation of the famous replica of Juliette who is: « O Romeo, Romeo! Why art thou Romeo!
Deny thy father and refuse thy name;
Or, if you do not want, let me simply vow of love
I cease to be a Capulet. «
Rare are those who do not know the balcony scene.

« I hold this world for what it is: a theater where everyone has to play its role. « William Shakespeare.

Frankenstein

Frankenstein is a very good movie, the make up of the monster is very realistic and highly sought after. The scene where Victor Frankenstein create the creature and when the monster wakes up is impressive because it’s not expected that the monster is alive at the beginning.

I think Victor deserves what happens to him, trying too hard to played God, he gives life to one hideous creature. A hatred born of the monster to his creator. His ambition cost him the life of his wife and his brother. The human being isn’t made to relive again and no man can replaced God.

Bilbo The Hobbit

Being a huge fan of the lords of the rings, I immediately thought that The Hobbit would be as wonderful as the others and it does not disappointed me . I think it is a logical beginning and to reflects on over the trilogy. Unfortunately there is a lot less action but leaves us winks eg when Gloin and the other dwarves are caught by Elfs , he mentions the name of his son Gimli which is found in adventures of lords of the rings and also we also find Legolas and Frodon all at the beginning .
The film, like the book highlights the courage of Bilbo , because at first he did not want to come but eventually has decide to accompagnied them, it was not to his advantage because he was get used to having a house , a bed and plenty of foods, but he got used to it faster than you can imagine . Bilbo was frightened before, throughout the adventure he learned courage and to confront the danger, in the eyes of dwarves, readers and spectators he became a hero.
