Latte Art

    « Latte art » is a technique of drawings or patterns on the surface of a latte coffee. Contests are organized to  name the number one artist practicing this art
In this technique, taste is important. But the visual, the design, the patterns are even more important.

In 2016, the champion is Umpaul of South Korea
The second is Qi Li of China
The third is Minako Yoshizumi of Japan

Let’s talk about the year 2016 and the New Year.

After Christmas come the new year. The year 2017 begins. Then what news should we remember?

       News 2016 :

  • The election of the American President made a lot of talk about him.
  • The crash of the Egyptian flight caused many deaths.The questions of several families remains without any concrete answer.
  • I think that the news that has most to mark all the nationalities are obviously the attacks that took place. Several tributes have been paid to victims throughout the world.
  • Etc ….

New Year :

This new year, for many of us, is filled with hope.
We all hope and wish:

  • peace in the world
  • Happiness of our loved ones (family and friends) and others
  • a united family
  •  Love
  • Health

Tip: Always keep hope, do not give up because after the rain comes the good weather

Hazelnut crunch mince pies recipe

  • 250g plain flour, plus extra for dusting

  • 75g icing sugar, plus extra for adusting
  • 140g cold butter, cut into cubes
  • 1 egg, separated

For the filling

  • 400g good-quality mincemeat
  • 1 small eating apple, grated
  • zest 1 orange
  1. Put the flour, half the hazelnuts, the icing sugar and butter in a food processor and blitz to a sandy texture. Add the egg yolk and 1-2 tbsp water, and blitz briefly until the dough clumps together. Tip out onto a work surface and knead the dough a little until smooth. Flatten to a puck shape, wrap in cling film, then chill for 30 mins.
  2. Mix the mincemeat, apple and orange zest in a bowl. Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Unwrap the pastry and roll out on a lightly floured surface to the thickness of a £1 coin. Stamp out 12 circles with a 10cm fluted biscuit cutter and use them to line a 12-hole muffin tin.
  3. Fill each pie with the mincemeat mixture. Scrunch up the pastry trimmings and re-roll to the same thickness as before. Stamp out 6 circles using an 8cm cutter, and 6 stars. Put the remaining hazelnuts in a dish and lightly whisk the egg white in another. Brush a little egg white around the inner rim of each pie, then brush one side of each pastry lid, and the stars. Press each lid into the hazelnuts, egg-side down, so they stick, then lightly press on top of the pies, nutty-side up. Repeat with the stars and place these on the remaining pies.
  4. Bake for 20 mins or until golden and crisp. Leave to cool in the tin for 5 mins, then scoop out and cool on a wire rack. Dust with icing sugar before serving. Will keep in a sealed container for 3 days.Résultats de recherche d'images pour « hazelnut crunch mince pies »

The abolition of slavery in Reunion

168 years ago October 13, 1848 Sarda Garriga arrived on the island of Reunion (Bourbon Island). He proclaimed the abolition of slavery the day of 20 December 1848 .

Every year, in La Reunion, December 20th is a bank holiday in memory of the slaves but also full of festivals .

Here, in my island, this celebration is called in Creole Reunion  » fet kaf « , then as said the reunionnais :  » Bone fete KAF  zot toute »

      INGREDIENTS

      DIRECTIONS

In blender, combine cranberry juice, yogurt, and blueberries and blend until mixture is smooth and frothy.

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ

 

 

 

 

It is celebrate on the 25th of december and it’s in the holidays. Children make a wishlist. Santa Claus brings presents and puts them down the christmas tree .

 

 

 

 

People usually celebrate it in family around a festive meal. Children eat candies like sugar of barley, gingerbread and a little chocolate each day in a avent calendar.

Gingerbread recipe or how to make gingerbread men?

 

Christmas is coming!!! Why don’t you make gingerbread men? I show you a delicious recipe, and this is what you need to make them:

-1/2 cup margarine

-1/2 cup sugar

-1/2 cup molasses

-1 egg yolk

-2 cups sifted all-purpose flour

-1/2 teaspoon salt

-1/2 teaspoon baking powder

-1/2 teaspoon baking soda

-1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

-1 teaspoon ground cloves

-1 teaspoon Ginger

-1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

 

Preparation of the dough:

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the margarine and sugar until smooth. Stir in molasses and egg yolk. Combine the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and nutmeg; blend into the molasses mixture until smooth. Cover, and chill for at least one hour.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Place cookies 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until firm. Remove from cookie sheets to cool on wire racks. Frost or decorate when cool.
