Lionel Messi, sometimes nicknamed Leo Messi,  was born June 24, 1987 in Rosario, is an Argentinian international footballer playing for Barcelona.
Third child of Jorge Horacio Messi, worker of a manufacturing plant, and Célia Maria Cuccitini, half-time housekeeper, he has two big brothers, Rodrigo and Matias, and a little sister, María Sol.

It has Catalan and Italian origins. He is a particularly timid and not very talkative child. He is a bullet collector.
Messi is noticed by making series of interminable juggling without the ball touching ground.

He is called the dwarf because of its small size. At 9, Lionel measured only 1.11 meters.
Formed in his hometown of Rosario in the Newell’s Old Boys club, he joined the junior team of FC Barcelona at thirteen and signed his professional contract in 2003.

He has since become the fourth most capped player in history of the club.
Considered one of the greatest players of all time, he is the only footballer to have won the Golden Ball five times.

With more than 500 goals and 200 assists in his career, he is the top scorer in the history of the Spanish league, FC Barcelona and Argentina.

Since 2012, he holds the world record for the number of goals entered in a season in all competitions and the record of goals in a season in a European championship. He is also the only footballer to have four consecutive top scorers in the Champions League and the first triple winner of the European Golden Shoe.
