- This is the recipe for a dog trait

Student’s explanations
thanks to Alison, Grégoire and Paul !
- The genome is made of a lot of chromosomes. Each chromosome is composed with just a DNA strand. This chromosome is composed of genes that give informations on physicals traits .
- The genetic code is the collection of all the genes of a living being.
Each gene exists through different versions called alleles :
Each allele is the recipe for a specific molecule created by the cell.
For example : One gene is coding for hair color
its allele B is the recipe for a Black pigment
its allele b is the recipe for a brown pigment
its allele r is the recipe for a red pigment
its allele y is the recipe for a yellow pigment
- Every person is different because each person has a unique genome.
Everybody has a different genetic code and so everybody has different physical traits.
If just a gene changes, the trait also changes and the person is different.
It is the proof that each genome is unique.
.
- When you’ve finished, draw your dog.
