Today, Bob Marley would be 70 years old.
Bob Marley was born on February 6, 1945, in St Anns, Jamaica.
His father was a white marine officer and his mother was a black woman.
He moved to Kingston when he was a teenager and met Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer.
He started to be known with Simmer Down in 1963.
In 1966 he married Rita Anderson.
He soon became internationally known, mostly thanks to his music but also because he tried to bring peace in the midst of Jamaica’s turbulent politics.
He died in 1981, on May 12. He was 36 years old.
