The Truth and Reconciliation Commission
Origin : South Africa after the end of apartheid in 1995
Structure : a kind of court presided by the activist and ex archbishop Desmond Tutu.
Objective : its objective was to reconcile victims and oppressors who were encouraged to give testimonies about what had really happened during the Apartheid period. It was meant to heal South Africa and make of it the Rainbow Nation (post apartheid South African nation, living in peace).
