World Trade Center elevators show 515 years of NYC

 • It only takes 47 seconds to get to the top of the WTC but during this journey up to the observatory deck, (on the 102nd floor) visitors will watch a beautiful time-lapse film. This video was shared by the NY Times and reveals 515 years of history.
 • Read more about this experience on Channel One News, or 911 Memorial.org.

Happy Birthday America!

 • Today is Independance Day in the USA, the anniversary of the Declaration of Independance, written on July 4th, 1776. That’s when the 13 original British colonies became the United States of America.

 • LISTEN! Frank talks about the way he celebrates US Independence Day on July 4th.

 •  America the Beautiful: Musician Keb Mo visited the White House earlier this year and performed a rendition of « America the Beautiful ». Enjoy some great scenes of America and the President set to this classic song – in celebration of Independence Day

Have fun!

Joey Chestnut ate 69 hotdogs this year! (The Guardian, 04/07/13)

New Freedom Tower in NYC

Freedom Tower par PittCalebFreedom Tower par Tim Drivas

One WTC will be the tallest building in the U.S., and the third tallest in the world. The tallest skyscraper is the Burj Khalifa, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which stands at 2,717 feet. (828 metres)

The New Freedom Tower in NYC stands where the old World Trade Center was before the 9/11 attacks. With its spire, it is now a symbolic 1,776 feet (541 m) in reference to the year of American independence.

Here are a few documents about the newest and tallest building in the USA:

 • an article from Timeforkids.
 • a Youtube video
 • an article   from neatorama.com.
 • a video about the spire from Newsy.
