Thursday, October 3
Arrival: Chicago O’ Hare International Airport   Terminal 5    2:10 pm
French students arrive at Sauk Prairie High School by school bus at 6:30 pm.
Dinner and evening with host families.

 
Friday, October 4
French students will attend classes, following the schedule of their host.

 
Saturday, October 5
Family Day.

 
Sunday, October 6
Family Day.

 
Monday, October 7
Presentations in French classes: our town, our school. Presentations by Zola students on Varian Fry to Ms. Turner’s Social Studies classes.
Thanksgiving dinner preparation-Each French student will spend one class period in Ms. Schara’s class to help prepare dishes for our Thanksgiving Welcome Dinner on Tuesday.

Tuesday, October 8 Excursion to Madison
8:00 French students meet in Rm. 25
9:00 Wisconsin Historical Museum-Native Peoples of Wisconsin
11:00 Tour of the Capitol
12:00 Picnic lunch on the Capitol lawn
12:30 Shopping on State Street
3:00 Return to Sauk Prairie High School
4:00 French and Host students set up and prepare Thanksgiving Dinner in room 47 of the high school or play football
5:30-7:00 Thanksgiving Welcome Dinner for French and American students in the River Arts Gallery.

9:00-10:30 Devil’s Lake Hike and Picnic Lunch
2:00 Film Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for our Time in room 25.

8:00-9:30 Morning on the Dairy Farm
10:30 Treinen farm-Hayride to the pumpkin patch
Picnic lunch
12:45-2:15 French students visit afternoon French classes- Halloween activities and pumpkin carving.

Afternoon in French 3 and 4 classes
2:15-3:00 Law enforcement presentation in room 25
6:00-9:00 Football game

French students meet in the River Arts Gallery with guest speaker
9:45-11:15 American Indian poetry with Mrs. Frick’s AP English class.
Afternoon in French classes.

Tuesday, October 15Electives Day
Meet with morning French classes. Students will experience the variety of courses offered in an American high school by participating in various elective classes.

 
Wednesday, October 16UW Day
7:45 French students meet in Rm. 25
9:00 Cultural landscapes tour by Aaron Birdbear
10:30-11:15 Welcome from UW Madison-virtual visit of the campus from Van Hise Hall.
Presentation: The American University by Gilles Bousquet.
11:30 Lunch
12:00 Shopping at the University Bookstore or the Chazen Museum
1:15 Return to Sauk Prairie High School.
Early dismissal at 1:55. Hosts and exchange students meet at Eagle at 2:00 to check in.

7:45 American families bid farewell to French students
8:00 French students leave Sauk Prairie by bus from in front of the high school
11:30 Arrive in Chicago. Drop off bags at Hostelling International Chicago.
12:00-1:00 Picnic lunch in Millennium Park
1:00-3:30 Walk down Michigan Avenue
4:00 The John Hancock Building

 
Friday, October 18
Zola students and teachers return to France.
