The Notting Hill Carnival
The Notting Hill Carnival is an annual event that was created in 1966.
It takes place on the streets of Notting Hill in London, England, each August over two days (Sunday and Monday).
It is a carnival led by members of the British West Indian community.
More than one million people come to participate in this big event each year.
The Notting Hill Carnival is one of the world’s largest street festivals.
In the streets, you can drink fresh coconut milk, eat jerk chicken, dance soca and calypso and listen to Caribbean music.
Women are dressed in traditional costumes and people are encouraged to dress up in colourful clothing.
