Christopher is a young man of 22 who decided overnight ( in 1990 ) hit the road without warning . He has dropped a brilliant career , family, money to go in search of himself. A spiritual journey of two years which led him on US roads , Mexico to Alaska , his ultimate goal , where it could finally be alone , surrounded by nature.
I loved this book because it is based on real events . The character is not boring and we can identify at him .At the end i was a bit disappointed because I found it brutal. I recommend this book.

It seems to be cool , Last years in english we are saw a little extract in movie and it was interesting because the main caracter want to do it by oneself . And just like you say we can identify at him .
I have loved this story !
I saw the film, the last year, in English Class! It’s a pretty good film(i haven’t read the book!) and the story of the book, who gave up his family, his friends, to go Abroad alone is really interesting! As you said, Christopher is not boring, and moreover he is really generous,because he gave all his money to a Charity organisation in Oxford.
I saw the film but I didn’t liked it so much… I found this movie very long…
I’ve read the book many years ago, and I loved it. Everyone should, I think, read this book at least once in their life !
