Let’s celebrate linguistic diversity in Europe

Posted by on 19/09/2017

Next Tuesday, September 26th we will celebrate the EDL (European Day of Languages). This event is an initiative of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. It was created in 2001.
This is a day to encourage language learning across Europe, to alert the public to the importance of knowing different languages to develop plurilinguism and intercultural understanding. The EDL shows the rich cultural and linguistic diversity of Europe.
Everybody can participate, from young children to adults in schools, universities or associations. You can organise events, create blogs, play language quizzes etc. In Sainte Anne School, we have decided to create a poster to promote language learning. We will show it in the CDI so come and see it!
