Hello,
We are back from Dublin where we accompanied our 19 students in their first steps in Ireland for 3 days.
After a 1h30 flight, they joined their host families that they had longed to meet. Everything went smoothly and they all experienced the early Irish dinner – 6pm!
On Monday, we met them at the Spire, a very popular meeting point in Dublin and we all walked to the CEI for a 1h briefing.: they got their Leapcard, noted down some practical information and were given some advice regarding their future daily life as Dubliners.
Tuesday was the first day at work. They were both excited and a bit stressed but in the end even if there are still some typical adjustments to be made, everything went well. They need to learn to be patient and observe how things should be done before being given more serious missions which is not an easy thing as they are now eager to get into the core of the activity.
We wish them a very pleasant and enriching stay in Dublin. These 4 weeks will surely be a turning point for them culturally, professionally and personally.
You will find attached some views from Dublin (arrival at the airport, St Stephen’s Green shopping centre, Trinity College and its old library, Irish dance, Dalkey on the coast -30mn away from city centre)
All the best,
Cécile Le Guillou and Alcyone Leynaud
