Converse was founded in 1908 by Marquis Mills Converse in Massachussetts. It’s a company that makes shoes.
He was inspired by the name of his mother « Converse » and decided to make shoe with rubber soles so as not to slip. It was the best selling shoes and cost 5$. In the years 1950-60, celebrities like Elvis Presley or the founder of Rolling Stones, Brian Jones made the brand popular by wearing the Chuck Taylor All star. Later, musicians appeared with Chuck Taylor All Star and linked the brand with punk and rock culture. In 52 years, it became an essential shoe model that sells millions every year around the world.
