The Princess and the Pea
Once upon a time, in far away kingdom, in a beautiful castle, there lived a prince who wanted to marry a real princess. He traveled all over the world. He met a lot of princesses but he didn’t find a real princess he liked.
One evening, it was raining very hard, he heard someone knocking at the castle’s door. When he opened the door, he saw a young girl. Her long blond hair was wet. Her clothes were wet. Even her crown was wet ! The girl said she was a real princess.
« I am not sure she is a real princess… « , said the Prince’s mother, « but I know what we are going to do! ». She took a small pea and she put it in the princess’ bed under 20 mattresses.The princess slept on the 20 mattresses all night.
In the morning the Prince asked the Princess : « Did you sleep well last night? ». « Oh, no, I didn’t!, she answered « There was something very hard in my bed and I slept very badly ».
The Prince was very happy because he knew that only a princess could be so sensitive. They got married the next day and lived happily ever after.
