Hi, Philippine and Milane! How are you?

Our names are Noah, Kyra, Daniela, Sunyu and Jinyu. We’re all 14 and 15 years old and we go to Marryatville high school and we are all in year nine. (We have our introductions on the blog).

We start school at 8:30 and finish at 3:15 for Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and on Tuesdays we finish at 2:25. We have 4 lessons every day except on Friday when we have 5. We have doubles which are 1 hour and 45 minutes (an hour on Tuesday) and singles which are 45 minutes (30 minutes on Tuesday)

Our school is a special interest music school as well as a special interest tennis school. Our uniforms are navy skirts for girls and navy shorts for boys. Our shirts are also navy with white and light blue stripes. There’s also a light blue dress for summer (for the girls).

Australia is a very warm country, it doesn’t snow and it can reach up to at least 40 degrees in summer.

We live in Adelaide, South Australia. Adelaide is okay but when you live here it gets boring. There are lovely beaches; there are lots of festivals and nice gardens.

Our names are Gabriella and Abi. We are from Adelaide. The population of our city is 1.2 million. That is quite small compared to the other cities of Australia. We were very happy to receive your letter ? It is very nice to know about your island and we would like to visit one day. We could really like to see the waterfalls and rivers you speak of. In Adelaide there are two rivers- the river Torrens is a small river that runs through the city but you cannot swim in it and the river Murray is a very large river that runs through other states in Australia too and it is very nice to swim in. we also have a few waterfalls but they are not as pretty and exotic as yours sound.

In Adelaide we have some very interesting animals including our state animal emblem which is a hairy nosed wombat. We don’t often see wombats because they live in burrows and only come out at night. We also have many kangaroos and koalas that we often see in the neighbourhoods and parks but mostly they live in the Adelaide Hills.

In the month of March, we have many festivals that happen. Some of them are music festivals and some are art festivals. The festivals are very fun to go to because there are lots of things to see and do. There is also lots of yummy food to eat. In March, we also have a car race. They are called the V8 Supercars. This is a very popular event with people coming from all round the world to see them.

In the month of November, we have the Adelaide Show. The Adelaide Show is a big carnival that travels all around Australia. It has many rides, exhibits and food and attractions. It is a very busy show.

At the end of the year at Christmas, we have the Christmas Pageant. It is held through the city and consists of people dressing up and going on floats and parading around the city. They sing and dance and play musical instruments. This is a bust attraction filled with lots of laughter and joy.

Voilà dix raisons de venir a Adelaide :

-Nous avons très grands centres commerciaux. ‘Rundle Mall’ et ’Marion Shopping Centre’ sont très bon et ont beaucoup de boutiques et les ‘grand Food -courts’.

-Adelaide a un zoo. Il est très grand et est très amusant. Il y a des PANDAS ! ?

-Le Jardin Botanique est très grand avec beaucoup fleur et la grande serre. Il est très beau surtout pendant le printemps.

-L’Adelaide Museum est bien avec beaucoup intéressent exposition et tours pour tout le monde.

-Glenelg est la plage la plus populaire. Le sable est blanc n’est pas noir. Il y a un tram qui va de la city à la plage. Glenelg est très beau pendant l’été et mes amis et moi allons toujours ici. Dans le weekend il est très occupé et beaucoup touristes visite.

-« Windy Point » est dans les collines d’Adelaide. C’est un post de guet et vous avez un vue à perte de vue. Il y a un restaurant et est très jolie et c’est un autre populaire touriste attrait.

-Saint Kilda est un très grand parc et il y a mangroves. Il y a passage en bois et beaucoup de faune et fleur. Il a le très, très grand toboggan. C’est très amusant pour les enfants mais est très amusant pour tout le monde !

-Harndorf est la ville historique. Elle est la première Allemande ville dans Adelaide et il a beaucoup Allemand restaurants. C’est une très importante pièce de notre historie.

-Adelaide a deux grand festivals, « Fringe » et « WOMAD ».
« WOMAD » signifie « World Of Music And Dance », il est un festival de musique et il va pour quatre jours. Le « Fringe » est très bizarre avec beaucoup de spectacles, tel que comédies, danse, et magie. C’est très amusant pour tout le monde.

In Australia there are many tourist attractions.

Australia is very multicultural with lots of different people, Europeans, Asians, Africans etc.
Australia has very beautiful beaches and lots of sexy girls.
Fishing is very good here.
It is hot in summer and cold in winter in Australia.
In Australia there are some unique animals. For example Koalas, Kangaroos and platypuses.
We have some historic/natural heritages (Uluru, The Great Barrier Reef, The Twelve Apostles).
Australians are very nice.
Australia is a sporty country. We play soccer, cricket, Australian Football etc.
The Australian cities are super. For example Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide etc. They are fun places to visit.
We have many different types of food.

Hi Heloise, Frederique and Enola! Le Réunion sounds great!

Here are ten reasons to come to Adelaide:

-We have very large shopping centers. ‘Rundle Mall’ and ‘Marion Shopping Centre’ are very good and have a lot of big stores and one big food court.

-Adelaide has one zoo, it is very big and very fun. There are PANDAS!

-The Botanical Gardens is very large with many flowers and a large greenhouse. It is very beautiful, especially during the spring.

-The Adelaide Museum is good with lots of interesting exhibitions and tours for everyone.

-Glenelg is the most popular beach. The sand is white, not black. There is a tram that runs from the city to the beach. Glenelg is beautiful during the summer and with my friends we always go there. On weekends it is very busy and many tourists visit.

– « Windy Point » is in the Adelaide Hills. This is a lookout post and you have a view as far as you can see. There is a restaurant and it is very pretty, this is another popular tourist attraction.

-St Kilda Playground is a very big playground, and has mangroves. It has a boardwalk and lots of wildlife and flowers. It has a very, very big slide. It’s great fun for kids but is fun for everyone!

-Harndorf is a historic city. It is the first German city in Adelaide and it has many German restaurants. This is a very important part of our history.

-Adelaide has two great festivals, « Fringe » and « WOMAD ».

« WOMAD » means « World Of Music And Dance », it is a music festival and it goes for four days. The « Fringe » is very funny with a lot of shows, such as comedy, dance and magic. This is great fun for everyone.

-Adelaide has an ice rink in the city centre. The ice hockey team for Adelaide is « The Avalanche. » The rink is open every day and has a disco on the weekend.

1^st: It is very beautiful. There are many beaches with white sand and blue sea. You can see the hills from almost everywhere in Adelaide.

2: You can see many endemic animals of Australia. There are birds with many colours in the town and the country, they are called Rosella’s and Lorikeets. Also, there is a South Australian bird, the Magpie. It is black and white.

3: There are two zoos to visit in Adelaide. The Adelaide Zoo is in the centre of the town and has many animals from all around world. In the zoo we have two Chinese pandas. Their names are Wang Wang and Funi. The second zoo is the Monarto Zoo and it is natural and open in the country. There are lions, leopards, monkeys, giraffes and many other animals. You can drive in the park by car or bus to see the animals in a natural landscape.

4: You can watch the Clipsal race. It is a very fast car race in the streets of Adelaide.

5: You can see all the beautiful vineyards.

6: There are magnificent festivals full of culture and music.

7: You can visit the Port Elliot Bakery. It is very popular and delicious.

8: You can dive with the sharks at Port Lincoln.

9: At Kangaroo Island you can see many penguins, seals and other cute animals.

10: You can enjoy Haighs chocolate.

We have a very nice zoo called the Adelaide Zoo, there are heaps of animals and birds like pandas, koalas, kangaroos, kookaburras and platypuses.

We have nice hot summers and cold winters.

There are a lot of beautiful churches, gardens and historic places.

We have a really nice Christmas pageant; in the pageant we have really pretty floats.

We also have really good and big shopping centres.

The Sport:

We play sport of all sorts. We play the sport under the name of “Aussie Rules Footy” and we participate in the playing of the cricket.

The Climate:

Adelaide’s climate is in the state of moderate temperature.

The Animals:

The following exotic animals participate in the process of existence within the borders of South Australia: kangaroos, koalas, to name but a few.

The Diverse Cuisine:

Our favourite pastimes include the “cooking – on – the – barbecue”. Diverse range of dishes may be produced by conducting such a method.

The Culture:

The land is home to an ancient tribe of Indigenous custodians. Meet one today, and they’ll share their story with you.

The Sights:

You shall visit the “Flinder’s Ranges”, they truly form quite a sight!

Dix raisons pour visitez Adelaïde.

Si tu visites Adélaïde tu peux allé au grand festival « WOMAD ». WOMAD est une abréviation pour « World of Music and Dance (monde de la musique et de la danse) ». A Womad il y a beaucoup de groupes musicaux partout et on adore Womad!
Un autre festival est le Fringe. Le Fringe est un grand festival à propos de tout : théâtre, cirque, musique etc. J’adore le Fringe aussi.
Australie a les plus belles filles. Tu peux regarder aux plages magnifiques et en plus Miranda Kerr est Australienne.
Adelaïde a un super climat. Il est chaud (40°+) en été et est froid dans hiver. J’adore l’été et vous pouvez nager dans l’été parce que j’ai une piscine.
Australie du Sud a beaucoup de grandes plages « Glenelg, Henley, Sellicks, Black Point ». Pour pêcher, nager et construire des châteaux de sable. 😛
Tu peux aller au Paintball a Deep Creek avec nous et campe là.
Tu peux aller au Drive-In pour regarder un film dans le voiture. (c’est le dernier en Australie du Sud.)
Nous pourrions vous amèner à Kangaroo Island, pour voir tous les kangourous, pour faire du quad et du Sand Board. (pour surfer sur le sable)
Clipsal 500 est une course de voiture qui va pour 5 jours, au début de mars, il y a des voitures, de la musique et beaucoup plus. Le Clipsal est trop cool, nous on adore le Clipsal.
Et en dernier on pourra aller au Murray River avec notre bateau ou jet ski, pour faire du Knee Board, ski nautique et du tube! 😀

Hello, John Alexis, Louis, Hugo and Anthony
Alex does dancing and Bonnie and Angelique like netball (a little bit like basketball). On the weekend we play sport and go to parties. We also hang out with friends.

In Adelaide there are lots of festivals. For example music, multicultural, the Royal Show (a fair). There are lots of public gardens. Most of them have a playground. In Adelaide we have two zoos; Monarto and Adelaide. At Monarto we have African animals including rhinoceros. At Adelaide Zoo, we have two pandas.

We have Rundle Street and Rundle Mall for shopping and hanging out with friends. The symbol of Rundle Mall is the ‘Malls-Balls’. In Australia there are many cultures. Australia is very multicultural and also there is a variety of religions. In South Australia there are opal mines. In the town of Roxby Downs there is mining, but there is no mining next to Adelaide. In the holidays we go to the Murray River to do kayaking, water skiing and water sports.
In the Barossa Valley there are wineries. There are lots of beautiful beaches for swimming and surfing. In South Australia, we have a lot of desert.

1^er: C’est très beau. Il y a beaucoup des plages avec sable blanc et mer bleu. Vous pouvez voir les collines presque partout dans Adelaïde

2 : Vous pouvez voir beaucoup de animaux endémiques de l’Australie. Il y a l’oiseau avec beaucoup des couleurs dans la ville et la campagne, appeler Rosella’s et Lorikeets. Aussi, il y a l’oiseau australien du sud, le Magpie. C’est noir et blanc.

3 : Il y a deux zoos à visiter à Adelaïde. L’Adelaïde Zoo est dans le centre de la ville et a beaucoup animaux de tout du monde. Dans le zoo nous avons deux Chinois pandas. 7 : Vous pouvez visite La Port Elliot Boulangerie. C’est très populaire et délicieux.

8 : Vous pouvez plonger avec les requins à Port Lincoln.

9 : À Kangourou Île vous pouvez voir beaucoup les pingouins, les phoques et autre mignon les animaux.

Hey Jefferson and Marine!

Our names are Michelle and Imogen. Michelle is 14 and I am 13, but I turn 14 in 12 days! We both go to school at Marryatville High School and we are in year 9. We also are both in the special interest music program at our school. I play cello, piano and trombone, but I’m also a singer. Michelle plays clarinet, piano and recorder.

Adelaide is a very quiet city compared to other places in Australia such as Sydney or Melbourne; however that is one of the really nice things about it. It’s great to come here for a relaxing holiday. On the weekends, Michelle likes to do surf lifesaving and play basketball, and read, but I like to watch YouTube and TV as well as riding horses. A few festivals take place during March, including the Adelaide Fringe, the Adelaide Festival, Womadelaide and Soundwave, so that is a great time to come and visit! The Adelaide Hills are really beautiful with places like The Giant Rocking Horse, the Chocolate Factory and wildlife parks.

The weather in Adelaide is quite strange because it can get very hot during summer, but very cold during winter. Adelaide is renowned for its churches and its wine. We have many wineries in regions such as the Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale. We have lots of beautiful churches all over the city, but my favourite is St Peter’s Cathedral, because I sing in the choir there. We have some really nice beaches around the place, although it’s important that you go on a nice day, because otherwise they can be horrible.

Hello Kevin,

My name is Victoria and I am fourteen years old. I go to Marryatville High School and I am in year 9. We start school at 8:30 and we finish at 3:15 but on Tuesdays we finish at 2:30. Our school colours are navy blue, white and sky blue. We have a uniform that we have to wear which for a girl is a skirt and a shirt or we can wear a dress. For boys they wear shorts and a shirt or they can wear pants. At school I learn English, Music, Maths, Science, Sose, Home Economics and of course French. My favourite subjects are Sose where we learn about history and I love Home Economics because we learn to cook.

Adelaide is a great place to live. We have some beautiful beaches where you can body board, swim and surf. We also have different festivals including Womadelaide which is a music festival and the Fringe which is a festival where you can go see people perform in magic shows. We also have a zoo called Monarto which is a place where you can go see animals in an open environment. It is a lot of fun to visit.

Hi our names are Suzie and Ryleigh(me). It was great to hear from you Amandine, Gwendoline and Julien. The flora and fauna sound amazing. We go to Marryatville High School (Year 9) and our school hours are quite different to yours. We start at 8:25 and finish at 3:15 but on Tuesdays we get an early finish, we end our day at 2:30. Your school days are very long compared to ours. Our lessons are Maths, English, French, Science, SOSE (Society and Environment), Art, I have Home Economics and Suzie has Music. The city of Adelaide is one of the smallest in Australia. These are our 10 top reasons to visit Adelaide:

There are many festivals to go to, like the Fringe and Womadelaide which are the most popular.
There are some great places to shop such as Rundle Mall, TTP and Westfield.
You must visit the zoos that we have here, Monarto Zoo and Adelaide Zoo are both great to see the native animals of our country.
Here in Adelaide we have many beautiful beaches and when the weather is nice and warm you can go surfing, body surfing and swimming.
If you enjoy flora we have a great Botanical Garden that you must see. It has many beautiful flowers to see.
You can go for a drive through the Barossa which is wine country. The scenery is amazing and it is a good drive.
In Adelaide many people love to go and watch the Australian Football. It is different to your version of the game as it uses an oval shaped ball and tackling is allowed, many people get injured playing this sport.

We have a lovely river that runs past through South Australia which is great for water sports such as knee boarding, jet skiing, water skiing, tubing, etc.
If you love chocolate you definitely have to visit some of the chocolate factories we have here. We have Haigh’s (an Australian only brand) and Melba’s Chocolate factory for example.
We also have a dolphin cruise where you go in a boat and see the dolphins in their natural habitat. They also swim along next to you.
