The symbol of Reunion Island

The Endormi is a normal multicoloured  chameleon.

The chameleon is a reptile, who eats insects with her BIG tongue.

This sort is originally endemic of Madagascar. The chameleon is a reptile.

It is an animal ovipare, laying between 15 to50 eggs.             

Their life expectancy is of 6 years maximum.

It is a member of the biggest existing chameleons, it’s size can reach 55 cms tail included for the male and 35 cms for the female.

Presentation of Cilaos ^^

This city is in one of the three circus on Reunion Island.

In Cilaos we can find a lake in the center of the city, a church, a restaurant but also find a swimming pool

In town we also find the house of the embroidery.

We find also a stadium and a city hall. In 2010, a fountains was built near the cinema and near the church. The statues in the fountain represent a letters for CILAOS a personnage represent a heritage of Cilaos. (slaves [C], embroiderer [O], planter of lentils[L], Marianne [A], sculptor[I] and a women[S]).

A slaves come in circus and baptised the circus « Tsilaosa » : wich means : « Place wich we do not leave. »

Maloya is a type of music from Reunion.

Maloya is with sega,one of two musical genres of Reunion.

There are several styles of Maloya, by their different rhythms, and the context in which they are practiced as Maloya-Pike, which is quite popular with songs in Creole.

The music is mainly based on traditional percussion instruments: roulèr  and kayamb .

Whales…

Whales are now protected marine mammals that come to Reunion Island during the winter months (September-October) to reproduce.
These are large mammals weighing between 150 and 170 tons and measuring up to 30 meters. Whales are cetaceans. They also come to the Reunion in winter because it is too cold in the Arctic in the Pacific Ocean.

They have lungs and breathe air.They are warm-blooded, That is to say,They maintain their internal temperature at a constant level.Their little develops in the womb of the mother that feeds directly through the placenta. They suckle their young.

rougail sausages:a typical dish

The rougail sausages is the typical dish of Réunion island.To prepare the rougail sausage it is necessary: sausage, tomatoes, cloves of garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, onions,oil.. Reserve sausages. warm some oil in the pot
Make the sliced thinly onions return and the crushed garlic.
Cut sausages then cook with onions. At the end of 5 mn, add tomatoes cut in small pieces and the spices (the hot pepper in pieces).
Mix the whole then let simmer on slow fire by removing the lid from time to time to eliminate the excess of water.

Piton de la Fournaise

The piton de la fournaise

The piton de la fournaise is a volcano in the island of  Réunion.

It’s an effusive volcano .The fournaise is  one of the most active volcanoes in the

world. It  tops out at 2632 M. The volcano know one éruption every

year. but in  2010 the Fournaise collapsed on itself.

Fournaise it’s the more active volcano in Reunion, It’s the only one

active volcano in Réunion. the fournaise eruption are very impressive.
