He was born in 1564 in Stratford-on- Avon, in England.
He was the son of John and Maria Shakespeare.
In 1582, he  married  Anne Hathaway.
They had three children.
He left Stratford in 1587 and moved to London.
He is considered to be the one of the best playwrights, and poets of the Elizabethan period.
His works are translated into many languages and his plays are performed all over the world.

His most famous work is Romeo and Juliet.
He died in  1616.
