Do you recognize this man ? I bet you do, don’t you ? For those who don’t, what if I mention Pulp Fiction, The Lord of The Rings, Scream? Okay, now you’re probably even more confused and thinking « what the hell do these movies have in common? ». Well, it’s obviously the notorious Harvey Weinstein !
And now you’re probably thinking « ew ». And how could I not agree with you all? The sweet, rich, famous Harvey Weinstein, worldwide known for his talent as a producer but most lately for his talents as a sexual assailant. Six complaints for rape, dozens for sexual assaults, actually 93 sexual assaults and 14 undeclared rapes; seems like someone can’t keep his hands to himself. And not only his hands if you see what I mean, but let’s not enter the details too much.
It all started in 2017 when accusations against him were released on social media. The American actress Alyssa Milano suggests to share witnesses of assault on Twitter with the « me too » hashtag, online since 2007. This sudden blow-up is called the « Weinstein effect ». Yes, Harvey fueled the movement !
But let’s switch back to 2016, when our lovely Harvey attempted to discredit his victims by paying societies such as the intelligence company Black Cube whom he paid 1.3 billions of dollars to make his victims remain silent. Not by killing them, of course, but for example by censoring anything that might be bad for his career. Too bad: he was fired by his very own company !
Also, let’s not mention that Black Cube has hired old Mossad and Aman* members. The USA are not big fans of the Middle East.
The goal of this contract was to prevent the harassment cases from being released as well as Rose Mc Gowan’s testimony book « Brave », which was directly related to Harvey Weinstein’s assaults.
Several investigations were carried out on the victims and Weinstein even hired the famous lawyer David Boies. Boies signed a contract with Black Cube to prevent the newspaper The Times to publish an article about the assault ; meanwhile his own company was defending The times in several other cases. As ACDC said, « honey, what you’d for money ? »
Anyways. 2020 hasn’t been a great year so far. We could even say it has been a terrible one. However, good news were here, it’s just that nobody paid attention to them; it’s understandable considering the astronomical amount of headlines about COVID-19 since January, drowning other terrible news in the flood of covid, covid, covid. Always covid.
So let us tell you guys: our sweet Harvey was sentenced to 23 years of imprisonment on March 11th 2020. And this is what we subscribed for.
Indeed, according to CNN, Judge James Burke sentenced him to 20 years in prison for criminal sexual acts and three years in prison for rape. The sentences will run consecutively, both come with five years of supervision after release and Weinstein must register as a sex offender.
